The Tampa Bay Rays acquired outfielder David Peralta from the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday in exchange for minor league catching prospect Christian Cerda. Peralta, 34, is in the final season of a three-year, $22 million extension and is set to be a free agent this winter. He is batting .248 with 12 home runs and 41 RBIs in 87 games this season. Peralta is a career .283 hitter with 110 homers and 468 RBIs in 961 games over nine seasons, all with the Diamondbacks. Cerda, 19, was batting .315 with two homers and 12 RBIs in 20 games with the FCL Rays, the club's rookie ball affiliate. The Rays designated left-hander Angel Perdomo for assignment to make room for Peralta on the team's 40-man roster. A corresponding move to the active roster will be made after Peralta joins the club. Perdomo, 28, was claimed off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers on July 19 but did not appear in a game for Tampa Bay. He is 1-0 with an 8.24 ERA in 22 career relief appearances with the Bre...

She covered her breast with the other hand as the dress was a one-breasted silhouette. It also had an extremely high side slit. Beyoncé paired the Gucci gown with socks by Wolford. They were thigh high and sheer stockings. She completed the ensem...

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired veteran reliever Chris Martin from the Chicago Cubs for infielder/outfielder Zach McKinstry. Martin is 1-0 with a 4.31 ERA and six holds in 34 appearances out of the bullpen in 2022. The 36-year-old right-hander has struck out 40 batters, walked four and allowed five home runs in 31 1/3 innings. He is 6-15 with seven saves and a 4.10 ERA in 244 games (no starts) over parts of seven seasons with the Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves and Cubs. The Dodgers are currently working through injury issues in the back end of their bullpen with right-handers Brusdar Graterol (shoulder), Blake Treinen (shoulder) and Tommy Kahnle (forearm) all on the injured list. Right-hander Daniel Hudson (knee) is out for the season. McKinstry, 27, is batting .091 with a home run and two RBIs in 10 games this season. He is a .210 hitter with eight homers and 31 RBIs in 74 games over three seasons with the Dodgers. --Field Level Media http...
The Daniel Bard comeback story is the gift that keeps giving after the right-hander agreed to a two-year contract extension with the Colorado Rockies on Saturday. Financial terms were not disclosed by the team, however multiple media outlets reported it was worth $19 million. The deal effectively takes the 37-year-old off the trade market after the closer was drawing a wide range of interest. "We are excited to finalize a deal with Daniel that keeps him in Denver through 2024," Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt said. "Daniel has not only been effective on the field for the Rockies but has added immeasurable value with his leadership in the clubhouse." Control issues limited Bard to two appearances for the Boston Red Sox in 2013, and his career appeared finished from there after five seasons in the American League. But after seven years out of baseball, Bard returned with the Rockies in 2020. While he had a 3.65 ERA in 23 outings in 2020, that ballooned ...
The Boston Red Sox will look to break out of their late-July funk as their three-game interleague series against the Milwaukee Brewers continues on Saturday afternoon. With a 4-1 loss to Milwaukee on Friday in the series opener, Boston slipped to 2-6 during its homestand that began after the All-Star break. The Red Sox are 7-18 in July overall. The Red Sox have allowed four or fewer runs in three of their past five games, but they averaged only 3.4 runs in those five contests. They went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position on Friday. "(The Brewers') stuff is really good, but we just have to find a way (to score runs)," Red Sox manager Alex Cora said. "We haven't done a good job with runners in scoring position for like a month and a half." Another contributing factor to Boston's cold spell is that its starting pitchers haven't recorded a single win in July. Nick Pivetta will look to change that on Saturday. Pivetta (8-7, 4.35 ERA) put t...
The St. Louis Cardinals figure to be active shoppers ahead of next week's trade deadline, but they also hope for more consistency from several regulars on their current roster. Nolan Gorman, Tyler O'Neill and Tommy Edman are being counted on to play key roles for the Cardinals, who will continue their three-game road series against the Washington Nationals on Saturday night. Gorman homered for the second straight game in the Cardinals' 6-2 win over the Nationals on Friday, while Edman singled and recorded his 21st stolen base. Both players are heating up after struggling for most of the month. O'Neill, who had 34 homers last season, is batting .225 with five homers this year. He has been limited to 55 games due to injury. He is hitting .147 in July after batting .354 in June. "He's going to be a big part of us moving forward," St. Louis manager Oliver Marmol said. "The reality is, if he hits, we're going to be in good shape." The tr...
Aaron Judge belted his major-league-leading 40th home run of the season on Thursday, joining an exclusive club of New York Yankees who have reached that milestone by the end of July. Judge hit a two-run shot against the Kansas City Royals' Kris Bubic in the third inning at New York. Only Babe Ruth, who had 41 homers before August in 1928, and Roger Maris, who had 40 by the end of July in 1961, previously accomplished the feat for the Yankees. The record for home runs prior to August is 45, shared by the Oakland Athletics' Mark McGwire (1998) and the San Francisco Giants' Barry Bonds (2001). Bonds was the fastest to the 40-homer mark, getting there in 89 games in 2001. Judge was playing in the Yankees' 101 first game of the season. --Field Level Media https://www.cweb.com/mlb-yankees-aaron-judge-hits-40th-homer-of-season
The Detroit Tigers are eager to keep making things difficult for a contending team on Saturday afternoon in the third game of a four-game series against the host Toronto Blue Jays. The Tigers, who won two of three at home against the San Diego Padres earlier this week, defeated the Blue Jays and one of their top pitchers, Alek Manoah, 4-2 on Friday night. The teams have split the first two games of the series. Detroit's Willi Castro hit his fourth home run of the season, and second in two games, on Friday. Teammate Harold Castro had a two-run single. He has hit safely in 15 of his past 18 games with an at-bat, hitting .303 (20-for-66) over that span. Former Blue Jays right-hander Drew Hutchison (1-4, 4.84 ERA) will start Saturday for the Tigers. Hutchison has faced the Blue Jays once in his career, allowing one unearned run in 4 1/3 innings during a start on Aug. 22, 2021. The Blue Jays will start right-hander Ross Stripling (5-3. 3.10 ERA) on Saturday. In two career outi...
Tampa Bay pitcher Corey Kluber found himself in an awkward position as the media surrounded him on Friday before the Rays' 4-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians in St. Petersburg, Fla. The right-hander is hoping to let his pitching arm -- not his mouth -- do the talking. If he does, it will take the attention away from Tampa Bay manager Kevin Cash and his former employer, Cleveland skipper Terry Francona. Before Cash was hired by the Rays, he was Francona's top assistant. They are good friends, share similar managerial styles and are the two longest-tenured managers in the American League. The question, then: Who's the better manager? "They're both great," Kluber said with a laugh. That provided a bit of comic relief as the friendship between Cash and Francona was a hot topic for the media. "Everybody who knows us knows how much I think of (Cash)," Francona said. "I know I'm biased -- and I don't apologize for it -- but I think...
What just happened? That was the question facing both the San Diego Padres and Minnesota Twins on Friday night after the Padres hit season highs in homers (five) and extra-base hits (seven) in a 10-1 home rout of the Twins. Have the Padres finally found some punch after going through 100 games of a power shortage? And what's with the Twins, who have been outscored 27-11 in three straight losses? "Teams go through things like this," Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said. Meanwhile, Padres manager Bob Melvin was hoping his team's power surge was here to stay after San Diego followed two losses in a three-game series in Detroit with their most impressive slugging game of the season. "We needed it, and it proved we could do it," Melvin said after five different Padres homered on Friday. "You hope it carries over. We got two runs in the first on that towering home run (46-degree launch angle) by Luke Voit, which was big. And we kept slugging. Hopeful...
Celebrity Johnny Depp is once again in the news headlines as he sold prints of his artwork for much over three million dollars, on Thursday. The trial of Pirates Of The Caribbean actor, who was in the public eye for the defamation trial against his ex-wife Aquaman star Amber Heard, who also counter sued him, ended with both of them being awarded compensation as damages though he won about five times the amount she did. Depp joined longtime friend Beck on tour and jammed in England, during the verdict. Now, he has sold some of his artworks on Castle Fine Art and earned millions. The Castle Fine Arts website which sold the artwork by Edward Scissorhands, faced, a temporary crash as the enthusiasm to acquire a piece of Depp was more than it could cope with. The 59-year old celebrity had announced the sale on Instagram. The website put 780 ...
The instant Aaron Judge made contact and his 431-foot homer off Scott Barlow easily cleared the fence, the New York Yankees celebrated a 1-0 win over the visiting Kansas City Royals on Thursday. Like the mantra of numerous college basketball teams in the NCAA Tournament, they rejoiced because Judge's latest homer allowed the Yankees to survive and move on. After Judge's dramatic drive, the Yankees hope to produce much more consistently at the plate and not wait for a big hit in their final at-bat Friday night when they oppose the Royals again. The Yankees have just six wins in 16 games since July 8, a stretch that has seen them lose nine of 12 games decided by three runs or fewer. Judge's homer capped a rough night at the plate for New York, which was held to two hits and one walk while striking out 12 times. "We've had the best player in the game on our side, and it seems like time and time again when it matters most, he seems to come up big," Yankees...

The former Victoria’s Secret model stood on a stone ledge overlooking the water, taking in the sights. She wore a strapless white bikini top with a small silver diamond in the center and a matching white skirt. Elsa yanked the skirt down in one photo to reveal black bikini bottoms and a flat stomach. Things got so out of hand for the Colorado Rockies on Thursday night that they resorted to using backup catcher Brian Serven on the mound for the ninth inning. Not to be outdone, the Los Angeles Dodgers countered with infielder Hanser Alberto in the bottom of the inning. Los Angeles used Alberto as a luxury in its 13-0 win, but the Rockies pitched out of a need to save the bullpen. On Friday night, Colorado can spare its bullpen with a good outing from starter Chad Kuhl in the second game of the four-game series in Denver. Kuhl (6-5, 4.48 ERA), a right-hander, will match up against Dodgers left-hander Julio Urias (9-6, 2.72) in what the Rockies hope will be a bounce-back game. Kuhl is looking for a bit of a bounce-back performance of his own Friday night, and if he can duplicate his last outing against the Dodgers, he will succeed. In that June 27 start at home, Kuhl recorded the first complete game of his career, a 4-0 shutout in which he gave up just three hits, walked no...
Trea Turner and Gavin Lux had three hits each, Tyler Anderson tossed seven shutout innings and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Colorado Rockies 13-0 on Thursday night in Denver. Mookie Betts and Will Smith added two hits apiece for Los Angeles, which has won five in a row over the Rockies. Turner and Smith each knocked in three runs. Brendan Rodgers had four hits for Colorado, which has dropped five of its first seven out of the All-Star break. Los Angeles is 6-2 since the break. The Dodgers put the game away early, starting with a two-run first inning. With two outs and runners on first and second, Freddie Freeman and Turner pulled off a double steal, and Turner came home on a throwing error on catcher Elias Diaz. Freeman moved to third on the error and scored on a wild pitch by Jose Urena. Los Angeles added to the lead in the second. Max Muncy singled, Cody Bellinger walked and Zach McKinstry reached on a fielder's choice to load the bases with no outs. After Betts lin...
Celebrity model Demi Rose opted out of a bikini to relax by a pool, displaying her hourglass figure in a tight corset look and nothing down below. The British sensation stunned as she snapped a selfie from a deck and by the water for her 19.9 million Instagram followers and via her stories, going low-key with her vibe but definitely upping the ante with her outfit. Fans noticed the Pretty Little Thing ambassador posing with one arm across her forehead while wearing a plunging and strapless pale yellow corset with feminine flourishes via cute blue bows. The 27-year-old model stunned her army of fans with her curvy figure, as well as her delicate facial features – fans saw her with catwing eyeliner, matte foundation, and a rosy red lip – while going pantless and possibly without any underwear on. Starling Marte delivered the walk-off RBI single Wednesday night for the host New York Mets, who edged the New York Yankees 3-2 to sweep a two-game interleague series from their crosstown rivals. The Mets have won three straight following a three-game losing streak to extend their lead in the National League East to three games. The Yankees, who entered Wednesday with the best record in baseball, are 2-5 since the All-Star break and 10-12 this month. Eduardo Escobar led off the ninth by doubling on the first pitch thrown by Wandy Peralta (2-3). Escobar went to third on a bunt by Tomas Nido and remained there when Brandon Nimmo was credited with a single when Peralta momentarily bobbled his comebacker. Marte then ripped a 1-0 pitch beyond shortstop and into left field to score Escobar. Marte raised his arm as he rounded first base before being wrapped up by Pete Alonso and Nimmo as their teammates mobbed them at second base. Seth Lugo (2-2) struck out three in 1 2/3 innings of r...
Chris Cuomo wants to get back into the game after a lengthy and well-publicized hiatus. Chris, the brother of former disgraced Governor Andrew Cuomo wants to “get after it” again so he can continue his famous phrase said on his former CNN show every night, ” Let’s Get After It.” Cuomo has a point to make. His departure from CNN was anything but amicable. The anchor was embroiled in a sexual harassment investigation involving his brother, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, and in late 2021, New York State Attorney General Letitia James. Talking with NewsNation host Dan Abrams on NewsNation he said,  “I want to find a way to help people. I am going to come to NewsNation, and I want to build something special here,” “Work with Dan, work with the team here , they’ve got great people who are really hungry to make a difference in ways that I think matter.” “I think we need insurgent media, I think we need outlets that aren’t fringe and just trying to fill their pockets,” he went on t...
Selecting players to fill out the Presidents Cup roster is always a challenge for team captains. The task is growing exponentially tougher this year as players jump ship from the PGA Tour to Saudi-backed LIV Golf. Just ask U.S. captain Davis Love III. Love addressed his awkward position on Wednesday while speaking ahead of the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit. "It's just, it's a distraction," Love said. "I did a radio show the other day and the guys said, ‘What do you think about Talor Gooch? Do you think he could be a pick or not?' I go, ‘He's not eligible,' and there was silence. I know he's on the list, but he's not eligible to play. So yeah, that's tough." The Presidents Cup is scheduled for Sept. 22-25 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte. Love said the task of picking players will be tougher on his counterpart, International team captain Trevor Immelman of South Africa, than on him. However, the U.S. team will be withou...
Russell Wilson is wearing a different uniform and participating in training camp at a new location. And the new quarterback of the Denver Broncos is just fine with the fresh territory. "I think newness is always great. Any time you go into something new, you have two ways of looking at it," Wilson said after Wednesday's training camp practice, his first in Centennial, Colo. "You can look at it with fear, nerves, and thinking, 'What is this going to be? What is this going to mean?' Or you can go own it and take care of it yourself and do it with a bunch of great guys. "That's what we are doing. We are all in this thing together. We are pumped and excited to do it and hopefully bring a championship to Denver again." Wilson 33, spent his first 10 NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks prior to March's blockbuster deal in which he was traded to Denver for quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive end Shelby Harris and five dra...
Two losses in the Subway Series continued the most frustrating part of the season for the New York Yankees, but when it was over, manager Aaron Boone expressed excitement about adding another bat to a lineup in the midst of a rough patch. Outfielder Andrew Benintendi was acquired late Wednesday night from Kansas City, and he might make his debut in pinstripes Thursday against the visiting Royals in the opener of a four-game series. The Yankees still own the best record in the American League but are 2-5 since the All-Star break. New York is hitting .252 in those games but went 0-for-15 with runners in scoring position in the two games against the Mets. "We know we're really good, and we know we're going to hit a snag in the season," Boone said. "We actually embrace a little bit of adversity. We'll power our way through it, there's no question in my mind." Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo homered in the first inning of the Yankees' 5-3 loss o...
The last time the Chicago White Sox came to Denver, they were nearly victims of the first home no-hitter in Colorado Rockies history. Kyle Freeland came within two outs of a no-no back in 2017 before it was broken up. Tuesday went better for Chicago in its first trip to Colorado in five years, and the White Sox have a chance to sweep the two-game series with the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday. Chicago will send Luis Giolito (6-6, 5.12 ERA) against Antonio Senzatela (3-5, 4.98). Giolito was the losing pitcher in his only career start against the Rockies, which came Aug. 28, 2016, when he allowed four runs in five innings. Wednesday will mark his first start at Coors Field. Senzatela is slated to make his first career start against Chicago. He has faced the White Sox once, on July 7, 2017, when he pitched one inning of relief and allowed a run. Despite playing just two games in Colorado, the White Sox spent three days in the area. They were in town by Monday, an off day, while t...
Carlos Santana's sacrifice fly with one out and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning scored the winning run as the Seattle Mariners defeated the Texas Rangers 5-4 Tuesday night. With Seattle trailing 4-3, J.P. Crawford led off the ninth with a single off Brett Martin (0-6) and scored on Cal Raleigh's double to right-center field. A sacrifice bunt by Adam Frazier sent Raleigh to third, and the Rangers intentionally walked Julio Rodriguez and Ty France to load the bases and set up a potential force at any base. Santana lifted a fly ball to center fielder Leody Taveras, and Raleigh just beat the throw to the plate. Raleigh and Rodriguez both homered for Seattle, which will go for a sweep of the three-game series on Wednesday afternoon. The Rangers rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the final two innings to take the lead. Adolis Garcia hit a two-run, check-swing double down the first base line with two outs in the eighth to tie the score. Taveras led off the ni...
Since returning from the All-Star break, the Milwaukee Brewers are proving adept at late dramatics. Milwaukee is 4-1 since the break, with the decisive run in three of those victories coming in its final at-bat. The latest dramatic win saw extensive use of their bullpen, so the Brewers hope ace Corbin Burnes can deliver a lengthy outing on Wednesday afternoon in the finale of a two-game series against the visiting Minnesota Twins. In Milwaukee's first game of the season's second half, Luis Urias hit a game-ending single in the 13th inning for a 6-5 win over the Colorado Rockies on Friday. After a 9-4 win on Saturday, Andrew McCutchen hit a tiebreaking, two-run double in the eighth inning of a 10-9 victory on Sunday. The Brewers took their first shutout loss in more than a month on Monday, falling 2-0 to the Rockies, then bounced back to earn a 7-6 win over the Twins on Tuesday. Urias hit the game-ending sacrifice fly with the bases loaded to score McCutchen and cap a th...
The New York Yankees had the best record in baseball entering Tuesday, so they're not expected to overreact to a single loss -- even one absorbed in the playoff-like atmosphere of a Subway Series game against the New York Mets. But the National League East-leading Mets weren't shy about suggesting the potential impact their win could have on a team seeking to emerge as a championship contender. The Mets will look to complete a sweep of their rivals Wednesday night, when they host the Yankees in the finale of a two-game set. Max Scherzer (6-2, 2.28 ERA), who turns 38 Wednesday, is scheduled to start for the Mets against Domingo German (0-1, 15.00 ERA) in a battle of right-handers. Eduardo Escobar hit a two-run homer to cap a four-run first inning Tuesday night for the Mets, who went on to earn a 6-3 victory. The Mets produced their runs just minutes after falling into a 2-0 hole via homers by Aaron Judge and Anthony Rizzo on consecutive pitches off Taijuan Walker. The ...
Two teams that could wind up being trade partners get together one final time before the deadline when the resurgent Oakland Athletics host the Houston Astros on Wednesday afternoon. Several A's have seen their values increase as the team has come out of the All-Star break with five wins in seven games. If the American League West-leading Astros needed any convincing that players from the last-place A's could help them, they've seen Oakland win three straight against them in the past 10 days, including two in a row to begin the current three-game series. Infielder/outfielder Tony Kemp has scorched his former team with two doubles and a home run in 7-5 and 5-3 wins the past two nights, while versatile Chad Pinder bombed a grand slam in Oakland's Tuesday win. A's starter Frankie Montas, widely rumored to be on the trade block, limited the Astros to three runs (two earned) in five innings on Tuesday. Oakland's bullpen has held Houston to three hits and one ...

Andrew Benintendi had three hits, Michael A. Taylor drove in three runs and Zack Greinke threw five scoreless innings to lead the host Kansas City Royals to a 7-0 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night. The Royals broke open a one-run game with a four-run seventh inning. A two-run homer by MJ Melendez in the eighth inning put the finishing touches on Kansas City's third consecutive win. Both starting pitchers -- the Angels' Noah Syndergaard and Greinke -- were sharp through five innings, neither allowing a run. Greinke had to work his way out of a jam in the fifth after the Angels loaded the bases on a walk, an error and a single with one out and Shohei Ohtani coming to the plate. However, Greinke got Ohtani to hit a grounder to first, and Phil Gosselin was forced out at the plate. Next up was Taylor Ward, who flied out to center to end the inning. Syndergaard (5-8) had to work his way out of trouble early, with the Royals going 0-for-6 with runners in sc...
Ty France went 3-for-3 with a home run and Chris Flexen pitched six quality innings as the Seattle Mariners snapped a three-game losing streak, defeating the visiting Texas Rangers 4-3 on Monday night. Adolis Garcia and Nathaniel Lowe homered for the Rangers. Flexen (7-8) got the Mariners back on track by winning his fifth consecutive decision. The right-hander allowed two runs on four hits with two walks and five strikeouts. Trailing 4-2, the Rangers rallied in the ninth. Lowe hit a leadoff homer off Diego Castillo before Leody Taveras grounded a single into right and Kole Calhoun walked on four pitches. Castillo struck out Ezequiel Duran before giving way to fellow right-hander Erik Swanson, who got Josh H. Smith to foul out and Marcus Semien to ground out for his second save. Texas right-hander Glenn Otto (4-7) took the loss. He allowed three runs on seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. He walked one and fanned five. The Rangers opened the scoring in the third on a wild pitch by...
The last time the Milwaukee Brewers failed to score, the National League Central leaders responded with a seven-run inning and a 10-run showing against another division leader. Coming off their first shutout defeat in more than a month, the Brewers seek a similar rebound performance Tuesday night when they host the Minnesota Twins in the opener of a two-game interleague series. Milwaukee was blanked for the ninth time this season on Monday in a 2-0 loss to the visiting Colorado Rockies. The Brewers mustered just five hits and had all three of their at-bats with runners in scoring position during the ninth inning. The Brewers scored 25 runs while winning the first three games of the four-game series and are averaging 4.9 runs per game this month. However, they are coming off their first shutout loss since a 4-0 defeat to the New York Mets on June 14. "Our guys when we got into some good counts, nothing happened," Milwaukee manager Craig Counsell said. Since their las...
Trea Turner continues to show he is completely comfortable being front and center with the Los Angeles Dodgers almost a full year since he last played for the Washington Nationals. Turner and Max Scherzer came to the Dodgers from the Nationals at the trade deadline last season. Though the presence of the two stars was supposed to help Los Angeles to a championship, the club fell to the eventual champion Atlanta Braves in the National League Championship Series. This season, the Dodgers again look like a World Series contender and will take the National League's best record into the second game of a three-game home series against Washington on Tuesday. Back at shortstop this season, after playing at second base upon his arrival with the Dodgers, Turner has thrived. Dru Yearwood and Cameron Harper each had a goal and an assist as the visiting New York Red Bulls held on for a 4-3 win over never-say-die Austin FC on Sunday in the first-ever meeting between the sides. The Red Bulls (10-6-6, 36 points) recorded their seventh road win of the season and snapped Austin's team-record seven-game streak without a loss. But New York's victory was not without plenty of late drama. Austin (12-5-5, 41 points) was without stalwart starting goalkeeper Brad Stuver, who was held out due to health and safety protocol. Replacement Andrew Tarbell struggled, as Austin allowed its most goals at home this season. Serge Ngoma put the visitors on the board with a goal in the 14th minute, unleashing a blistering shot from outside the box. Tarbell was able to get both hands on the ball, but it bounced between his legs and into the bottom left corner of the net. John Tolkin was credited with the assist for his pass that started the scoring play. Yearwood added...
